SLP SS headers and Jackets/Wrap ?
 

I know header wrap/jackets can cause the headers to rust away to nothing in no time, but I can't think of any reason not to use them on stainless steel headers. Am i missing something???

I have SLP single cat headers coming and am debating between:


exhaust jackets, http://www.thermotec.com/products/full/11240/11240.html
~75 bucks

OR

DIY ceramic coating ~30
+ Spark plug wire shielding

OR

DIY ceramic coating ~30
OVC looms ~100

whats my best option?

Header wraps are fine as long as you maintain and change them on regular basis.

They collect oil residues and become a fire hazard over time when left unattended. They also have been know to cause changes structural integrity of headers when left on unattended over time.

If the car is a keeper pay the extra money to have a good inside outside hi temp coating done. It is well worth it in the long run.
