Single cutout question

I was going to put in 2 manual cutouts after my headers but have decided against it because i dont want to lose more ground clearance than i already have with the LTs. I also do not want to burn anything on my floor boards. How would one cutout sound before the axle after the Y, will it sound as good as it would with two or should i just not put one in. Does anyone have sound clips videos or pics of their car with single or dual cutouts Any input is apprecitated

Re: Single cutout question

I'm actually considering this same thing. Putting one after the y is going to smooth out the sound a little and won't be quite as loud, but will definately be louder. I'd like to hear some aound clips of the single cutout too before I do it.

Re: Single cutout question

If you don't have any cat(s) on you car it will be LOUD!

I drove my car around the neighborhood w/ shorties and y-pipe only and it was a little to loud for me, but hey if don't like it you can always cap it.

i dont mind that it will be loud but because it is fairly loud with the exhaust that is on there. I just want the sound quality to be decent, i love the way cars sound with 2 cutouts i just havent heard one with one and was curious on the sound difference

Re: Single cutout question

I've got a single manual cutout on my car with Pacesetter LTs and the ORY. Ground clearance wasn't compromised and I can get to it and get it off with ease just by barely getting my shoulder underneath the car. It sounds absolutely evil at WOT. At idle it sounds pretty damn sick too -- between 2000 and 4000 RPMs driving around town it is just plain obnoxious. I open the cutout for car meets every now and then, but I'll be honest the LTs and ORY to a Flowmaster muffler sounds just fine to me. The cutout is great for the track, and people definately like the sound -- but daily from inside the car it is annoying. Most definately louder though.
