Should I remove throttle body to clean it?

Just wondering if it is necessary to remove the throttle body to give it a thorough cleaning. Mostly concerned with getting the idle air passages clean to maybe smooth out the idle a little. Car runs excellent under all conditions but I feel it could idle a bit smoother.

Make sure you clean up your IAC valve while its off, that thing gets gunked up bad after a while, which reminds me, I'll have to do that tomorrow.

After cleaning my TB, my rpms would hang. Turns out you need to lubricate the butterfly rod where it enters the TB housing.
