shaking when brakes are applied.
It happens when I slam on the brakes. Its feels more to the right side also. It feels like a shake and pulse feeling all together. I have new rotors that are slotted and ceramic pads. Could this be a supension problem and not a brake problem.
yea i just bought my 94 Z28 and it also has the same exact problem, my friend who worked at brakes express and told me the same thing, the rotors were warped, or the caliper piston is doing some stuff, that i dont know about, cuz i dont know anything about brakes!!
I very much doubt that your rotors are warped.
Did you follow correct break in procedures with the new rotors (using old pads and several braking runs without complete stops)? If not, you have likely imbedded brake pad deposits into the cast iron of the rotor (from high heat), which will give the vibration which many mistakenly think is warping.

No I didnt use old pads. I did do heavy braking to heat them up real good. I wonder if the brake paint I used got on the pad. Because I heated them up so good that some of the paint melted off on to the rim. Not alot tho.
So what should I do. Remove the wheels and get some brake cleaner I assume or is it another method? Thanks alot for the help.

Check for play on balljoints, tie rod ends, and wheel bearings.
Get some emery cloth and scuff the rotor surface to see if you can get rid of the deposits. repeat the correct 'bedding in' procedure. Your rotors are NOT warped.

IF you have ABS, that rattling/shaking is probably your ABS system kicking in....

If you didn't bed in the pads with gradual (approx .5 g) stops from moderate speeds with cooling time between and just went out and did hard high temp braking, there's a good chance you warped the rotors. You may have embedded pad mat'l or maybe both conditions.
Tim's link is a good one.
How you installed the wheels can also effect rotor warping. Of course tighten the nuts in the criss-cross star pattern, but do it in stages: 60 lb-ft, 80 lb-ft, 100 lb-ft is what I use. Perhaps loosening and retorquing like this will eventually allow the rotors to get back flatter. I've been able to do this when wheels were installed improperly and rotors warped a lilttle. Might help...couldn't hurt.
A combination of eccentric wheel tightening on new rotors can actually twist the rotor and when they are rapidly heated, the stresses can be relaxed or relieved and the rotor cools into a warped condition. Remember this is just a few .001s of an inch.
