Re: shaft rockers

None of those will work with AFR LT4 heads. I run Jesel SS shafts on my AFR 210's, and love them. I will never look at a stud mounted rocker again. Depending on which AFR head you have, the valve spacing will be different. The shafts for a 210 head differ from the 220 or 227, as their valve spacing is further apart, and they will require more of an offset on the rockers. I would call Jesel direct, and tell them what head you are running, and they will set you up with what you need. I paid $725 for mine, well worth the price. You can post or PM me if you want to know more about them, I installed them on my motor.

Re: shaft rockers

why do you think there any better than a stud mounted rocker? and idk if its worth goin afr 227 over le3 with a t56 conversion because both choices are liek the same price. what do you think?

Re: shaft rockers

They are better because the shaft mount has virtually no deflection, as opposed to the stud mount which has some. This will affect the amount of lift and duration the valve sees, compared to what the cam is giving. Also, price wise, by the time you spend the money for the studs, guide plates, rockers, and maybe a girdle, you are almost at the price for a shaft mount system. as far as which head to use, what will they be on top of? Stock bottom end? 383? 396? How hard will you spin it? How aggressive will the cam be? Lots of factors to consider. 210's and up are great for a stroker.

Re: shaft rockers

i was thinking of getting 227's with stock bottom end for about a year, then getting a 383 later, idk i was thinking of getting le3 heads instead but idk how much more money it is to get bare afr 227's and getting them fully ported and machined, and all the valvetrain...? i was hoping for at least 600rwhp goal later, so idk if le3 will be good by then, and all this with an agressive cam.
thanks
