uhhh......did you say turbos? As in 2, as in twin turbos, or did you just mean several different housings for fitment? Man, if there's a TT kit made available for $5K, I'm gonna start robbing...er uhhh....saving now! Single turbo....yay, happy joy, better be under $4K for the kit including a phat **** intercooler and BOV....throw in an electronic boost control too.
But if its a single and EVEN $4k I'll have to consider whether I want that or an ATI.......or just a butt-load of Nitrous.

Yes I did say Turbos as in Twins. Brad at Turbolocity is building 2 kits for the LT1 Cars and 2 for the LS1 cars.. Both will be Twin Turbos with Stage 1 being designed around a stock motor and stage 2 for a built motor. After looking at all options on the cars the only way to leave most of the stock items and stock apperance there was no way to do a single turbo and get the numbers that he wanted.. Space is a huge issue with putting Turbos on the cars and he wants everything to look as Factory as possible and make it very easy to install for customers..

Pricing has not been announced yet and will not be until the kits are finished but the goal is to keep it as low as possible so there is a larger market for them..If you need more info or would like to follow the progress of the cars go to www.Turbolocity.com and check out the forum there..

Only one thing should be important here. Keep the Cost of the kit down. If you wanna sell upgrades to a basic kit, that would be great. But As for things like TT, Forget about them. It’s all comes down to the Sale price.

Since it won't be CARB approved, what are the dangers of using it in Cali? I know the answer is that we are not allowed to touch it, but it is worth considering. Is there a way we can get it passed by a Smog Referee? Won't pass the "visual"...

I think for me the price just doesn't justify the gains. For 4 or 5 grand my motor will be built for a 300 shot. It's just too much money for us nitrous guys

Just out of curiousity, for that 4 grand or so...

How are you going to get to the roughly 600 HP level it's going to take for the engine to actually eat a whole 300 hp worth of nitrous?

fully assembled forged 383 complete shortblock = $3500 from combo motorsports.

im pretty sure you could spray that with a 300 shot.

Yes, and after the $5000, plus head porting and polishing... intake manifold, etc, it will be over $6K. At that point, a turbo would be the same price. Plus the price of the N2O kit. However, your engine will last forever now that it is built!

No, I mean, how are you going to get to the roughly 600hp level you'll need to be at OFF the gas before the engine is going to be willing to eat another 300hp worth of nitrous?

i wasnt aware that you had to have 600hp before you were allowed to spray nitrous

is that a rule?

Yeah, it's a rule.
Federal law actually.
Using nitrous if your motor isn't making at least 600hp without the gas is a Class B felony.

Brad at Turbolocity is trying his hardest to get a Top Notch Kit out that will compete with the supercharger market.. No prices have been released yet but he is trying to keep them down. We should have some numbers soon.

My car is getting the Prototype kit as we speak and it should be done and on the road by the end of April. Once that happens we will have a price for everyone..

There will be many upgrades on Turbos for this kit but that is about the only upgrade needed. The Base line kit is targeted to have everything you need to go from a low HP Turbo set-up to a high HP one with only changing the Turbos on it. Of course for the bigger set-up you will need a good motor to handle it...

IF you have any questions go to www.Turbolocity.com and post some there. Brad is on the board everyday and will answer any questions you have...
