Heater Hose replacement

Hey all-

So, I initially thought I had a leaking heater hose up by the water pump so i did the Shbox R&R fix only to find out that my waterpump was shot and leaking. So, I am getting ready to bite the bullet and get the water pump and opti replaced. I thought I would go ahead and buy the new heater hose assembly as well(from the core to the water pump). My question, since the coolant is so low anyway, is the heater hose something that I can tackle prior to taking the car in to get the water pump replaced. I decided to have the water pump and opti done professionally due to the warranty on the work and parts. I vaguely recall someone saying that you needed to removed the A/C lines to get the heater hose assembly out. I already have the cable clamp removal tool. My labor cost would be reduced if I had them do it since the system would already be drained for the water pump. Just curious how easy it was to do.

Thanks
