Running rich - throwing crank position sensor code?
A friend of mine just fitted a cc305 cam and ported heads to his lt1 , and now it runs rich. It will sometimes throw crank position sensor switch code, so we replaced that and the car still acts the same and still throws the code. Could there be a problem with how the pickup was put back in or maybe the opti???

Make sure the cam is put in right, also there is a reluctor ring that goes on you might want to check that.

I don't know if it would help the problem but you can tune out the crank position sensor. When you run a Double Roller you have to take out the reluctor ring and do away with the crank position sensor therefor I don't think its really needed.

Re: Running rich - throwing crank position sensor code?
crank sensor is used for misfire detection pnly on the LT1s with it(96/97), so I would just tune it out
did he get a tune with the cam/heads? if not, he needs one |
Re: Running rich - throwing crank position sensor code?
you can tune it out on the 96/97's right?

I actually just put up a post for this because I need to know how to tune it out. Any idea how to do it?
