Question runnin too cool?

i have a 96 chevy pick-up with an LT1 out of a 94 Z28. and the temp will not get above 175. im wondering if that can cause a spudder at low driving RPMs. if i get in i hard it will spudder a few seconed then clear out. if temp has nothing to do with it what could it be besides plugs and wires.

Any idea what kind? Aftermarket opti's are hit and miss, the only one that really shows a quality gain is the dynaspark which is $600+~, I recommend staying stock with opti's. I figure the main reason it stays around 175 is you have a lower thermostat.

As the above poster stated, you may have a cool thermostat. My car runs around there and I have a hypertech 160 degree stat.

it has the OEM replacesment opti from jegs. i know that it has a cooler thermostat in it and thats why it runs cool. i thought maybe it running cool might make the computer lean the motor in witch possiblly to the point to where it would miss and studder. im also thinking that i need to get the computer re-flashed cause i 32 incn all terrains tires, a 3 speed turbo 350 tranny with sift kit and B&M clutch kit, and stock 10 bolt rear end with like a 3.42 gear in it. the computer has been re-flashed once but i dont think that it was done right

It does not matter what your thermostat temperature rating is. When functioning correctly, it will have ZERO bearing on engine operating temperature.

What cooling fan setup are you running?

If it's on full time, that's why you run so cool.

Simple.

175-180 is fine. You're well into closed loop at that point.

I still stand by my original post - Opti. But if you disagree with that, then I would start looking at the Ignition Control Module and the Coil. This assumes that you have already checked the basics like plug wires and such.
