Angry RPM dip problem

Hey, I was just driving my car and when it was idling at a redlight (900rpms) it dipped to about 4-500 (almost stalling) then went right back up to 900, but the check engine light popped on, I noticed my oil pressure switch has been leaking oil and is probably shot by now, is it possible that the switch leaking oil made it so the oil pressure wasn't enough and almost stalled, or was the dip another symptom of something? I'm putting on my new intake manifold and switch this week.

The oil pressure can't cause an SES light. And a small leak in the pressure sensor isn't going to cause low pressure, or cause the RPM to drop. Why not get it scanned and see what the problem was? Even if the SES light went off, the code is still stored.

You might want to add a "signature" with basic info about your car like year, tranny type, and any major mods. That will help people respond more accurately.

If you car is OBDII (95-97) take it up to Autozone and they will scan it for free.

Only take them a 95 if you want to have a good laugh.

Long shot, but when my car was doing this it was simply a loose battery connection.
