Rough idle after Intake install
I just started my car up after doing the intake install and it has a very rough idle I have made sure its not any vacuum leaks... Only thing i didnt do was to lube up the O rings on the injectors... Is there Only one set of O rings on the Injectors? Im going to pull the fuel rail and see if the injectors are leaking
Any help will be appreciated thanks |
Re: Rough idle after Intake install
well I just pulled the Fuel rails and let injectors free hang, and turned the key on , No fuel came out, Do u think because i didnt lube up the o rings I could have a vacuum leak?

Re: Rough idle after Intake install
the oil is more for easying it back in, if they are dry you could tear the o ring.
you could spray some carb cleaner around the injector port to see if it idle any differently, but ir really dont think thats your problem? why did you pull it in the first place? what gaskets did you use? you didnt use that cork from and rear gasket did you? triple check your connection to the injectors, and everything to make sure they are where there suppose to be... a crossed injector would cause some issue. |
Re: Rough idle after Intake install
Check the MAF connections, same thing happened to me after I installed my trickflow elbow. Turned out I didnt have it "completely" connected. Worth a try.

Re: Rough idle after Intake install
Verify you reconnected all of the vacuum lines (EGR, FPR, Brake booster, HVAC system line, PCV, EVAP line to TB).

Re: Rough idle after Intake install
Probably a vacuum leak somewhere as has been said. Carb or choke cleaner will tell ya. Lube "O" rings with white lube/105 grease/Lythiam grease and get it running and spray around hose connections, injectors, intake flange, ect. Listen for any hissing, sucking, whistleing noise.
