Roller Rockers

I was reading through some of the threads to try and determine which 1.6 roller rockers I should buy and I read where it really depends on your set up. I am going to have to change my intake manifold gasket in the near future and I should have enough money to do 1.6 rr and springs. The problem is, when reading through so many of the posts I wasn't sure which RR/springs would be good for me for my future plans. I eventually plan to get a set of AFR heads 190s or 195s and a CC 230/236. What RRs and springs would best compliment this setup that I can use with my stock heads and cam until I can save up to get the new heads and cam? Also, when I was reading through the posts I never noticed whether I'd need to get a computer program to account for the 1.6 RRs. BTW in the past I had considered getting the crane gold RRs. Would these be any good? Thanks for your help!

Also, would I need retainers or seats for the new springs?

I wouldnt buy the crane, or GMPP (by crane), or scorpion rockers all because they're made of aluminum. Aluminum fatigues, and will eventually break. Steel wont. I'll stick with comp pro-magnums.

Thumbs up

OK, the cc pro magnum's were my second choice so I'll definately go with them. What springs should I use and what about the retainers, seats, and computer programming?

Thanks again for your input!

combination motorsports has an excellent spring/retainer/lock package for a good price. www.cmotorsports.com

You'll want the 612 spring kit. Comes with springs that are good to .600 lift, retainers, and locks.

You might as well get the 7/16 studs and 7/16 rockers instead of the 5/8. Get the Non Self Aligning ones, and then give Jason Cromer a call and get some GMPP guideplates.

OK, but will these still work with my stock computer program and the stock valve covers?

Thanks for the input

Stock computer program, ok.

You will need to do some clearancing inside the valve covers for the Pro Mags to clear.

Some of the best pics I have found about modifying the stock covers are on the bottom of this B-body page.
