Rod bolts and bearings
 

I am going to be replacing my rod bearings and bolts due to a spun rod bearing after a nitrous mishap.

i heard to get the blue coated clevite77 bearings and i think i have already decided on the second step ARP rod bolts.

any recommendations? thanks in advance



also what is a good way to clean out a bunch of crap in the heads, i also heard that you would use seafoam to do something like that, but again, not sure.

Take your rod's to the shop and have the new bolt's installed and the rods resized on the big end.
Get Clevite "H" series brgs.Coated brgs are not necessary.If you just want them it won't hurt though. Run .0025 main and rod bearing clearance with these "H" brgs and a "stock" oil pump with the 3/4" pickup.

i know this sounds really bad, but i am in college and have to get the car back to atlanta to pass emissions up there to get a new tag. the plan is to take off the oil pan with the engine in the car, replace the bearings, limp it to atlanta from statesboro, then have a whole year to mess with it after i get a new tag for it.
