Rocker fell off?

I just got my car back from CarDoc because I could feel the passenger side valve cover being hit on the inside. So I thought maybe my rockers need to be adjusted or something. Turns out the #6 Intake rocker fell off and I was only using 7cyl. The mechanic said my car was putting out 68psi (not sure if he meant throught the dash gauge because it's been reading high since I got it back from new bearings throughout the motor) but he thinks the top end isn't getting enough oil. What could cause this?

Are you asking why your rocker fell off? Ask yourself why the others didn't and you will have your answer. Not trying to be cute. I had a couple fall off one time, however they beat the hell out of the valve tip and almost cost me an engine. I don't know why they did it, but I changed the length of my PRs, because I was using .050+ and I shouldn't have been. My springs were perhaps not as strong as they were supposed to be and/or the mechanic didn't adjust them and lock them correctly. So I really don't know why---I just know that I tried to do things to ensure that it wouldn't again.

So my advise is to make sure everything is a "go" including, correct geometry, correct spring pressures, correct adjustment, etc. Also, be aware that there may be some concern about the rocker studs themselves. Apparently the stock studs have crappy, unmachined tops and are prone causing unstable adjustments because the allen screws don't hold well. Probably not your case, but just in case you get hold of some ARPs which would solve the problem if it was one. JMHO

Well, I didn't do the work and the mechanic thinks my lifters aren't getting enough oil that's why it fell, but I don't know. My oil gauge reads high, about 40 at idle and 60 when I'm giving it gas. And I can see oil appear through the oil fill cap when I start the engine and wait. So I'm guessing my oil is circulating correctly. I'm clueless.

Wouldnt High Oil Pressure Indicate A Restriction?

The mechanic said I should get the oil galleys checked, so I called the mechanic who redid the bearings in my motor.
