theres a smokin deal on a roller rocker setup :) i've never used the Harland Sharp or Crane rockers. i have only held them in my hand. so all i can say is compared too the pro mags, they are very junky and cheap feeling in comparison the roller trunions are smaller on the aluminum rockers. they arent rebuildable like the pro mags and according too Comp, the aluminum weigh more at the valve tip, which is where you dont want the weight |
Re: Rocker Arms
Like he said, they have smaller roller trunions. Smaller equals more stress on a smaller area. They also can flex at high RPM, with high lift cams and stiff springs. Pro Mags are heavier, but in their design, are lighter at the valve tip. Which means that although they weigh more, they are more "willing" to move than an aluminum rocker. Think of it this way. If a kid is sitting on a teeter totter, and you try to push the other end down, it is resistant. If the kid is sitting on the middle of it, you can do it with little to no effort. Hence the reason, while their heavier, they fuction better, as the weight is NOT on the end of the rockers as much, but is more from the larger trunion. I know it doesnt make much sense what I typed, but its 1AM and I got up at 615AM so try and decipher it
