Replacement of Muffler needed?

I have a flowmaster exhaust on my z28, and its was installed when i got the car back in april. I have no clue when this exhaust was installed, but my question is replaceing the muffler and since my pipes are old and have small minor dents in them, would that produce more power? I am uncertain if muffler age equals less air flow hence less power. Thanks for the info

Re: Replacement of Muffler needed?

I'm confused about what you are asking. You said "my question is replaceing the muffler and since my pipes are old and have small minor dents in them, would that produce more power?" If the tail pipes are dented why would you replace the muffler? Tail pipes are serperate than the muffler, they are just bolted/welded to it. Small dents probly won't make much of a difference, but if you're muffler is cracked or something there might be some gains to be had but nothing you'd notice in the slightest.
