Quiet exhaust?

Is there a cat-back exhaust system available that makes good power, but is relatively quiet?
It will be going on my 93 Firehawk with CC305 cam, P&P heads, SLP headers, Random cat, all the usual bolt-ons, T56 and 3.73 gears.

Thanks
Ben

Well, the hooker catback is a relatively quiet exhaust until you get on it. It has a very nice sound at all RPMS. Try a search next time, and you will find PAGES of info.

People have told me that the Magnaflow system is quiet. I have never heard it though.

Quiet and power does not compute.

IMO, get a cutout with an e-cutout plate on it. Go from quiet to loud in 3-4 seconds.

I've got an electric cutout and a stock muffler. You can't beat it with it a stick. It's more like 1.5-2 seconds not 3-4 if you get a dmh cutout.

Its odd when you see how to quiet these cars down when everybody is making them louder

Dynomax Ultra flo.
Very quiet and is a straight through design. Dont think they offer a catback yet though. I just bought the muffler and put it on in place of my old Slowmaster catback.

That's my recommendation also.

Some of the Magnaflow and Dynomax mufflers would be a good choice. I've heard the Magnaflow setup and it's relatively quiet.

Cool

The SLP 2 on da left is quiet at idle and has a nice deep throaty sound when cruising. But when you get on it, thats when you hear the car roar. Also the good thing about the SLP 2 on da left is the whole exhaust stainless steel. So it will last for a while.

My borla that I just got is pretty quiet. Looks better than most exhausts on the market as well--No offense to others.

I don't think the Hooker catback is all that quiet. It is quiet at idle and cruising below 2000 RPMs, but once you accerlerate, it comes to life. It sounds so good that it doesn't bother me being a little loud.

It's still nothing like the noise of the loudmouth or gmmg.

I replaced the Flowmaster that the previous owner installed in my 94 with a Magnaflow. It definitely mellowed to sound out a bit.

If you can afford it I'd go with the borla. When I have the solid plate which sends all the exhaust through the muffler I can hear the valvetrain noise well above the exhaust noise. Plus if you want you can put the open plate in for a change and it will be loud as hell.
