Quick Rear O2 Sensor Question...

After I install my Jet-Hot LT headers.. I need to drive over to an exhaust shop and have them custom fab a y-pipe for me. So that means I'll have to drive there open headers. My two front O2 sensors will be in.. but what about my rear one? What do I do with it? Will it be fine not hooked up and reading anything for the 30min drive? I'm just a little confused... Thanks!

you'll be fine, it is just to monitor the functionallity of the cat., you might set a code, that's it

Front o2s measure emissions from engine and adjust fuel as neccessary.

Rear o2s measure performance of the cat and tell you if there's something wrong with it.

You could drive around all day with the rear o2s unplugged if you like seeing the ses light.

Oh ok, thanks.. I wasn't sure.. thought maybe it would do something with the A/F ratio and my car wouldn't run well enough to get to the shop..

Thanks!

I'm drove around last week with the rear O2's removed after my header install. All I got was the SES light.

Now my PCM is on it's way to MADWOLF, i.e. Ion at www.madz28.com to get a tune and delete the O2's from the PCM
