Quick question on K&N FPIK

I noticed that the filter is pretty low in the car and that they recommand EXTERME care be used when driving in wet conditions, how much of a problem is it with you guys?

Not a problem at all. Install it correctly, and you'll be 100% fine.Just try not to take any huge puddles or anything.

I have had no problems so far (10 months) but I definitely watch out for deep water. I'm in Fla so we get some pretty hard rains but so far so good. I have heard of at least one person that hydraulic locked an engine by hitting water that was too deep...no damage done fortunately. Just gotta use some caution and common sense.

If its like the SLP CAI in setup (I assume it is), where it reaches down into the fenderwell is entirely sealed off. I drove mine to the F body Convention in Bowling Green last fall through a torrential downpour from a leftover hurricane hitting the cost. 250 miles worth of HEAVY rain = zero problems.

You'll be fine...

You'll love it...if its like the SLP in terms of performance and sound, you'll get this neat, muted whistle which you can only really hear as the engine loses RPMs during shifts...and combined with an exhaust, it will make an LT1 rev as close to an LS1 as you can get without internal engine mods, I think...

You'll be just fine, I didnt even bother putting back on the black plastic piece (splash guard)after the install, too much of a PITA

Yup! It's a good add-on. I raced a guy and heard the whistle and was convinced I had Supercharger...whick I don't!! Well, he wouldn't believe me until I popped the hood and showed him. He still figured I had one somewhere under the hood!!! lol
