quick pushrod question!!!

I have to get pushrods dropshipped to my engine shop cause i didnt buy them until i asked whether they were going to mill my heads or not. he said their going to mill them but not nearly enough to effect the length of the pushrods. I plan on ordering the Comp Cams Hi-Energy hardened pushrods 7.200 (OEM Roller - Factory Length) just wanted to make sure theyll work with the hotcam kit and 1.6 rollers.

I don't see why they wouldn't going off of what your builder has said but your builder should be able to tell you for sure.

Sounds like it should be OK if you are only milling your heads 10 thousands or so. Make sure that you take your new head gasket thickness in mind too. The impy gaskets are thinner than the fel-pro ones. Its always a good idea though to check for exact length so that you have the least amount of stress on your valvetrain = More HP and longer engine life.

I had no problem with those pushrods with my heads/cam setup. A pushrod checker is the best way to go.

Re: quick pushrod question!!!

Have the shop do a check when they mock everything up, then determine the "correct" length from there. That's the way it's typically done.... no assumptions.

Yeah, you may just skim a few thou from the head and maybe use a thinner head gasket but that's not the only thing that effects the length. Are the lifters the exact same height (assuming a change in lifters)? What about the installed height of the valves? Cam base circle the same? How much was removed from the head and the block? Even changes found in different rocker brands can throw the "correct" height off from stock length.

Given the options.... check or guess, you're always better off going with check.
