Quick help, Simple spark plug and spark knock questions
 

Not LT1 related, but they are general engine questions.

I was just wandering what the differences are between hot, standard, and cold spark plugs are. Could somebody enlighten me?

Also, what does spark knock usually sound like? I have a ticking noise coming from the engine.

Here is a pretty good explanation for plugs.

Spark knock can sound a lot like a diesel engine rattle, usually in short bursts when the engine is under load or real (too) hot.
