quick auto trans. removal question
any easy way to get the tranny cooler lines and dipstick tube out before I go a-yankin on them??
|
anyone? It's kind of holding me up
|
If you have the bellhousing bolt that holds the dipstick in then you should be able to pull it right out.
The tranny lines will probably have to wait until you get the crossmember out and can lower the tranny a bit so you can get your hand in there. |
cossmember is out, so i should just lower it to a point I can get to the tranny lines then....if I have any problems, i'll be back :)

Yes. but be careful of the oil pressure sending unit.
It can contact the firewall and bust it. I busted mine and had to replace it. :( |
how low can i drop the trans? those lines are hard to get to and I have large hands
|
Drop it as far as you have too.
I had a friend helping me and he kept letting it down more and more and we heard this crunching sound (the sending unit breaking) and he said no its fine just let it down, so you be the judge but you have to get those lines off or the tranny won,t come out. We used a combination of a line wrench and regular open end. |
