Question 'bout Oil leak
I have a minor oil leak at the junctio where the timing chain cover meets the hub....that o-ring seal isn't seated properly and I have to replace the seal. i already have the seal, i'm just wondering if i have to pull the hub off and all that stuff or if i may possibly be able to lightly tap the existing seal in place??
i think i already know the answer but i figured i'd get second opinions. thanks |
I suppose if you can tap it in without removing anything it's worth a try. If you have to remove the hub, you might as well replace it while your there. Just be careful not to drop any sealer/goop into the oil pan.

Isnt the seal solid? I know mine was so you would have to take the hub off to get this seal into the timing chain cover.

thanks for the replies...it's what i thought it was gonna be, looks like i'm in for some fun this weekend... :(
