Question about injectors!

I was just wondering how long a set of stock injectors usually last and how can you tell if they are bad? If they are going bad can it cause your car to miss?

When your injectors start going bad you will notice a change in fuel mileage. Also you run the chance of detonation if your injector get stuck closed.

I have noticed a change in gas mileage, a pretty drasctic change at that. I was thinking it was because of bad 02's though.

Could a bad injector cause missing?

Of course.... but I would look elsewhere first. Check wires/plugs/opti. Although there is ways to test them if you really think thats it.

Is it a high rpm miss, low rpm, all through? Do you here the car knocking or just running rough?

Edit: Also drastic gas mileage change could be MAP associated.

The miss seems to be uptop and happening on the passenger side. You can hear a slight tick like its missing or like an exhaust leak would sound. Kinda hard to tell with the lope of the cam though. As far as driving around it runs fine. Just feels like Im not gettting every bit of power out of the cam. One thing I dont understand is the car was running fine before the cam swap now its not. Could be something simple like a misplaced plug wire. We will soon figure it out I hope. Thanks alot guys.

If the miss is happening uptop then I would take a look at your ignition coil. Typically if you crossed your wires the car will run like crap. Is your car throwing any codes?

You already have a post on your problem. Why start another. What is your rev limiter set at you might be hitting it. Also like I said before if your wires are crossed your buddy would of bet you by more then 3 cars. If you have not replaced your stock fuel pump I would check that.

Also I am the guy how beat that ls1 ram air T/A. My car had every possible bolt on except for Roller Rockers. You must have a lemon.

I must have a lemon huh? Very doubtful. When my car was stock with just an intake and exhaust I had beat LS1 cars.

With all the bolt ons possible for an LT1 it is very possible to beat a STOCK LS1.

I didnt have these problems until after the cam swap. Probably something electrical that we havent gotten to yet.

By the way, I have replaced my stock fuel pump.

You just said you bet LS1's with just an intake and exhaust and then you say it is possible to bet a "stock" LS1 with all the bolt ons doesn't make sense.Look at the may 2003 issue of GM high tech and you will see a bolt on LT1 T/A running 12.26. LS1 run 13.00-13.7 so just stop arguing.

I think u mis-read what he said man, I would read it over again. I have seen many bolt on LT1s beat LS1s without a problem, but I don't want to start a LT1 vs. LS1 war here.

Lt1ponykilla u have a PM
