pushrod length question

alright. I see people sell 7.150 pushrods which are .050 shorter than stock. many people advertise them for milled heads. my question is, do you have to take off 50 thousandths of your heads or block deck to use these? my heads were milled .010 to true them up and the block is zero decked and the deck was ground down .010-.020. I can't remember which. My thing is, with my motor, would i be closer and better off trying a 7.150 pushrod and checking it for operation, or sticking with the stock ones? I can't say i've ever seen a set of heads milled .050 and i know that people with .020-.030 miled heads are using them just fine.

Re: pushrod length question

The only way to truly determine the length you need is with an adjustable pushrod and checking the wear pattern on the top of the valve stem.

Re: pushrod length question

Ya need to check the geometry and see.Don't just think that because things have been cut ya can match the push rod length with the cut number's.

Ya got to measure.

Just kidding, I'm retarded. For some reason I picture looking at CMotorsport's site and it saying 7.2 was not stock, now that I go back and look it says it is stock. Shoebox is always right.

Try stock before buying anything.Get the least width of the pattern as close to the center as ya can.
