Unhappy problems.

ok, I had the new opti and waterpump installed yesterday, and now it wants to idle at around 600-700rpms, and would die when i put the brakes on to stop. I tried to turn the idle up by moving the screw on the TB up. The car seems a little sluggish. I mash the gas, then a second or two later it will take off, new clutch, so it isn't slipping.
Any ideas?

Did you check and make sure everything's plugged back in?

my mechanic is the one who put it in, so i'm sure everything is hooked up. I have a chip from pcmforless. could the timing be messed up after the new opti install.
Could it be a faulty idle control valve????

You really should not mess with the idle screw. The IAC will override a small adjustment, anyway. My first thought is that the PCM is still learning after having the battery disconnected after your recent work. If so, the more you let it idle, the smoother/better it will get.

My PSM will adjust even if it's a chip car? Also, I went ahead and backed the idle screw back down. We hooked a scanner up to it, and at idle, it is showing 6 degrees of knock retard, when we get a chance we are going to do a data-log on it while driving. Something was a little off on the fuel too.
