power door locks
were is the power door lock relay located at for a 95 formula i've looked every were and can't find it
|
I'd like to know also. My locks will open but they will not close.
|
mine will lock but not unlock funny thing is when i hit the unlock button i get 12 volts on both sides of the accuator thats why i'm thinking the relay is stuck
|
You can't find the relay because there is not one. :)
The switches control the lock actuators directly. |
i've put a different switch on and it still sends the 12 volts to both sides of the plug when i hit the unlock button but when i hit the lock it only sends 12 volts to one side of the plug

The ground actually comes via the lock switch on the passenger side. Try checking the connection there or that switch may be bad.

Well, it get's more complicated than that. The door locks are hooked into the Retained Accessory Power Module, part #12135089 for 1994 - 1995. This is an electronic module which among other things keeps your window power active for a little while after you turn off the ignition key. The relays look to be part of the module and it's kind of expensive, around $80. It sits somewhere behind the dash, above the radio. I was never able to find mine and I didn't feel like pulling the dash. The problem with my door locks luckily turned out to be just a partially blown fuse.

The description of the problem seems to have nothing to do with that. He has power, so I did not bring up anything regarding the RAP module. :) |
