Power door locks

My passenger side power door lock is acting up! A while ago, my passenger side door lock would lock, but not unlock. My driver's side door lock would work fine. Recently the problem seems to have gotten worse. My passenger side door lock doesn't lock or unlock at all, but my driver's side door lock still works perfectly fine. I'm gonna check the fuse and test for 12 volts at the switch tomorrow morning. But just wanted to know how people fixed this problem in the past. I did a search and everyone that had the same/similar problem as me seemed to have it magically go away the next day, and have it never come back!

replace the passenger side switch? How much exactly should this part cost? I live in Hawaii, and all the dealers here sell parts for EXTREMELY high prices. Thanks.

Do a seach for Jason Cromer or Dal. I bet you could get one sent to you for under $40. It would be less if you were in the states, but thats what you get for living in paradise, lol.

Do you have keyless entry? If so, does it do the same with the key fob and the switch on the door?

Check for tight connections on both switches as they interact with each other.

I got one at JN before I moved. It wasn't that much, maybe $10. It's easier than waiting for it to ship. But i would guess it's the mechanism and not the switch. Pull the door panel and see what going on in there.

Take the inside door panel off and make sure that the little lever on the lock slide is inserted correctly. If not, it can make it so that the slide doesn't move much and not lock or unlock. Make sure that the actuator works. If it does, then I bet your problem is that the linkage isn't hooked up right.

The problem isn't the key fob. The problem reoccurs whether the alarm is used to unlock/lock the car or the switches are used. I'll be taking a better look at the locks tomorrow. When I get this solved I will post the solution on here, so everyone can use it for further reference. I have PM'd a few people with the same problem and they have said that the problem either magically went away the next day, or they never ended up fixing the problem. :blah:
