possibly fried pcm?
possibly fried pcm?
So I was in the process of flashing my pcm and it went through the process once and then it began to do it again and it cut off mid way through. After that I can not connect to pcm at all. Fuel pump will prime for about a second then fans will turn on (koeo). Car will start but quickly eat the fuel from prime. I have pulled and checked fuses, disconnected battery also, even pulled fan relays. Still the same cannot connect to check for codes or reflash , fuel pump only starts to prime and fans kick on high. Anything to try or check or test? Thanks for any help.

Re: possibly fried pcm?
You may have lost power on the OBDII pin 16 (fused by the cigarette lighter fuse). I'm using the ALDL Diag 16 pin cable (OBDI), and had a "No Connect" problem, which turned out to be that fuse. It powers the serial converter circuit built into the cable.
Hope your problem turns out to be that simple. Good luck.

thanks. I did look at all fuses but will check tomorow if have power. I did have power inverter powering the laptop off of cig lighter and did not notice if i lost power on that but I did have the light on my jet aldl box light up. Have read a few posts and the fans on do not look good considering problem happened during flashing the pcm. I did pull pcm and it was hot but no difference once it cooled. well I found another pcm to try and was able to connect and load my tune but after driving a couple minutes started cutting fuel and then died. Then it began to turn fans on with key on. I was still able to connect and read codes and only code is MIL code. Will be towing it back to my shop and just would like any advice on things to try. I will start by looking for any burnt wires and double check all fuses. Then probably check the pcm ign circuit if I can figure that out since had a past problem with it. I will also try and load a different tune just to be certain something didnt go wack with the last tune I was attempting to run since it had no run time. Thanks again and thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Re: possibly fried pcm?
Update. The fan problem was in the replacement pcm. Before I put the newest replacement in tried jumping the circuit in the obd connector and fans did kick on confirming pcm could communicate at that level. I also tried pulling relays out to start and run and didnt work. I also tried using my over ride manual fan switch also didnt solve the problem. The new pcm worked and in the future i will take extra precautions when flashing the pcm, like not charging the laptop at that time and i will pull fan relays and be certain car battery is up.
