is it possible to take my valve covers off without pulling the motor? lol

is it possible to take my valve covers off without pulling the motor? lol

seems tight in there...i know this is a stupid question but i figured i'd polish them to add a little sparkle to the engine bay...are they removable easily?

Drivers side comes off with the 4 bolts. Pass side requires alternator removal.

IMO i suggest you not to do it yourself no offense! But you have to do exactly what loadre said

I also have to remove the AIR pipes from the exhaust manifolds to get mine off.

Haven't had emissions stuff in a long time. I'd say that would add to the frustration.

If you have traction control, you'll have to remove that as well from the drivers side. For the passenger side, unbolting the alt and rotating it out of the way will suffice.

hmm ill just wait for when i get my headers/cam installed...im sure i could do it myself but i'll probably end up buying valve covers later anyways

speaking of that...what are some good valve covers for LT1s?

Oh, I didn't tell you that to keep you from pulling the vc's yourself. Sorry if I added air of intimidation. It's simply two bolts on the intake manifold to be removed, and slide the thing out of the way.

I've got the Moroso polished aluminum centerbolt vc on my car. They're nice, but the valvetrain noise is an issue. Another good alternative (but pricey) is the composite LT4 vc, which significantly reduces valvetrain noise.
