Porting MAF-sensor, any idea?

I´ve read a little about porting the MAF-sensor and have become a bit divided. Some says that the ported it and they swear by it while others says it will only mess up the readings for the computer.

Does someone got an explanaition for this? Is it worth the effort to let the grinder hit the MAF?

IMO, unless you are have the resources to do custom tuning, leave it alone. Not everyone has the same results, because of their individual mods. The computer uses tables that are calibrated to the MAF, just as it comes from the factory. When you alter the MAF, the calibration is then skewed to a degree. To avoid any problems and to re-tune, you would want to have data logs before and after the modification.

Shoebox is dead on, unless you have some way of adjusting your stuff on the fly you'll never get the ported MAF nailed down, it will stumble and have mystery misses.

Remove MAF ends and polish with Aluminum polish and a good buffer (not the inside, but the outside.) It'll shine like chrome.

Thanks guys for your answers I think it will be good enough with some "chrome look" instead of screwing with the internal parts

Anyway, I´m going to change the intakemanifold gaskets next week and some paint on the intake will surely look nice together with a Chrome Maf.
