PM rod bolts

Anybody know the GM part number for the stock PM rod bolts?I went to the dealer and they said that the book called for the same bolt for all V8s from 1970-1998 yet the ARP catalog calls for different part numbers for the old rods and the LT1 rods.
The counter guy said that they went to a metric bolt in '98 so I ordered those. After I left It hit me that I had him order LS1 rod bolts.

So whats the deal? Can I use the old style bolts? I emailed ARP to see what the difference in the bolts were and they said that the knurl size is different between the two,but I measured the knurl on both the old and the PM bolts and they are both the same size knurl.
What does ARP do put them in a different package with a different part number and sell them for $30 more?

To be completely honest, the rod bolts are probably the one area in the short block that you simply cannot skimp on. I would never built a performance motor without ARP rod, main, and head bolts/studs. Cheap insurance. A broken $2 bolt could cause a ton of carnage.

I'm just doing a stock rebuild and only need 2 bolts though.

In that case, order:

Bolt- GM part #461372
Nut- GM part #3866766

Hope that helps.

So the numbers you gave me goes along with what the dealer said

Production bolt for all 302-350ci small-block V8 connecting rods with 2.10" rod journals. 3/8-24 x 159/64".

ARP says

ARP-134-6003 Chevrolet: 305, 307, 350, 409, high performance, connecting rod bolts ... $41.95

ARP-134-6005 Rod Bolts, High Performance 8740 Complete, Chevrolet 350 PM Rod 96 LT1/LT $59.99
I guess ARP wants the extra $20

My friend reused my old rotating assembly when I did the stroker, right down to the old rod bolts. Two days later he was picking up assorted rod/bolt/cap pieces that were on the ground from punching through the oil pan!
