Truck motor for 97 z28..just curious.

I guy I met said he has a friend who put a motor from a Sierra truck into his 2001 camaro. I was just wondering since it seems like I am going to need a motor for mine what type of motor from what truck could I put in mine without having to deal with a lot of headaches that would add more horsepower.

Just curious about it all since I am broke as a cross eyed hooker. Thanks.

Any LSx variant from a truck (or car) is a major conversion for an LT1 equipped car. Your friend already had an LS1 engine, so his was not complicated. If you are broke and don't want headaches, I don't think this is the route you want to go.

I put an LT4 motor out of a vette into my '94 silverado for more power . Was a royal pain to splice the wireharness to get the factory gauges and such to work. Definitely would not be plug and play for any truck motor sincethere were no LTx based truck applications. Should have went LSx based but at the time 10 years ago LSx wasn't cost effective nor was I familar with it.

Its not the most difficult thing, but it can get costly

I haven't been in here for awhile, good to see people like antz and shoebox still in here.

To the op, it would be much easier to just buy a used lt1 or rebuild yours.
