please help with fuel pump problems.

After about an hour of driving my car died and I would have to wait about 20 to 30 minutes before I could get it to start again and it would run maybe about 3-6 minutes before it would die again. I would have to do this so often before I made it to my house. Could my fuel pump be getting hot? Would letting the tank get to low cause the fuel pump to cut out due to getting to hot? Also could the fuel pump relay be going bad if it wasn't the fuel pump? I have only had this walbro 255 fuel pump for maybe 2 months. Is there a way to distinguish if the problem is the fuel pump, fuel pump relay, or the pcm? Thanks for any help.

Re: please help with fuel pump problems.

Checking the pressure might help you determine if the pump is providing the required fuel.

Do you have an aftermarket ignition box (I.e. Crane, MSD)? These can fail due to heat and give you the symptoms you mentioned.
