Pinging after opti install....
 

93 Camaro - replaced cap and rotor- engine started up ok, ran good for 5-10 seconds then started to idle up and down (700- 1100 rpms)


I rev to 2500rpms seems OK..... Took a drive, under load starts pinging..... normal accel no problem... passed 1/2 throttle, pinging again...

Question, is the rotor off by a tooth or two to cause this??? OR any other suggestions...

Did search, couldnt find anything on this....

P. S. motor is stock......

Did you make sure the opti is 100 percent flush with the block??? If not that might be the cause of your problems.......just something to check.

opti is flush, any one else?

Did you make sure you hooked up the vacuum lines to the opti. There are 2 of them and if they are not hooked up then that could be the cause of your problems...........

its a 93' non-vented.......

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM...............you got me then. I dont know wha to tell you. Im sure SHOEBOX could give you some insight to your situation. Just an idea. He has helped me many times with my car when it ****s up.
