Performance mufflers whistle
Ok there are to dynomax super turbo mufflers on this 1993 trans am i went to check out, and at WOT the mufflers whistle... or maybe mroe like a whine. Does this mean that the mufflers need to be replaced?!?
|
no one knows why this is???
at lower RPM's it's a nice growl than at higher RPM's they whistle and whine |
Hard to say. Are you sure it's even the muffler? It could be a hole in the muffler or just some part of your car catching the air just right to make it whistle. Whatever the case it doesn't sound serious.

Wooooooooo Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!:p

i think its the design of the muffler.. at lower rpms it has a nice growly sound.. and at higher rpms its designed to flow, thus the whistle
i remember a flowmaster sounded like that |
I had a Dynomax systen on my car for years and it always did that. I thought it was one of the coolest things and alot of other people loved it as well. There was nothing wrong with the muffler, heck when it rusted at one of the connections I put another one on and it did the exact same thing. I kinda miss that sound.

My 2OTL whistles at wot above 4500.

Mine whistles too. At WOT it starts at about 4,000rpm. Nice and throaty sound down low. I love this muffler but i don't know which kind it is. When it rusts out I hope I can find the same one.

great, so theres no prob... i thought the stuff inside the muffler might have started to blow out??
but as long as its normal... i dont mind the sound either. |
