Along the lines of a mail-order tune done by one of these guys: www.madz28.com or www.pcms4less.com. You will get better results and the mail order tune is a fraction of what a Hypertech programmer will cost.

Yeah, since you have a 93 they should just send you a custom tuned chip. The only thing you have to do is fill out an order sheet with the things you want done, make payment, and that is all.

Yeah, I ordered my tune from madz28 and so have other countless board members. I am very pleased with the results.

Re: performance chip!

now is it as simple as just installing the chip? or is there anything else i need to do with the engine to make the chip work?

Re: performance chip!

Just install it, I think madz28 has a write-up on his site that goes in detail about the proper removal/install procedure.

Re: performance chip!

He is very well known on this board and yes he is reliable. Nothing will beat getting tuned by a dyno though.

The question is what do you have for modifications to your car because I hope your not thinking that you can just put a chip in and gain some awesome power. You may see gains of only a few horsepower over what you have now. Most people use the tuning to smooth out a/f graphs and tailor computer requirements for new modifications.

Probably do a search on the headers/exhaust thing as this has been talked about alot and there is alot of good information on it. You basically have three header styles to choose from: shorties, mid-lengths, and long tubes. If you live in an area that does not require emissions, then I would say go for the long tubes as they should provide you with more power over the other two styles. If you do have emissions to contend with, then I would stick with the shorties or mid-lengths.

Re: performance chip!

ill end up going with longtubes...i really like this dual magnaflow exhaust that i found, where the tips go to the middle of the back bumber of the car..but idk how good magnaflow exhaust sounds..but id have to say itd sound good with headers and it is dual exhaust...but idk.

I have the Magnaflow crossflow catback, overall the quality of the system is great, my only gripe is that it is a little too mellow. I'm sure it has a completely different tone though in dual form.
