Pcv
When i did a motor swap i bought the egr block off kit which came with the egr system block off and the pcv valve block off. When i started it up i smokes from the valve covers. do i have to run a pcv valve or can i leave it blocked off and vent a different way? it is killing the car at idle when i run it. need help plz. Thanks

Re: Pcv
From you what you told me on the phone, I bet it could simply be a stuck PCV valve. Try that first before ditching the breathers. It shouldn't hurt having extra means of venting off crankcase pressure. Ben's 454SS bolt on smog motor did fine with 2 breathers.;)

Re: Pcv
Do you still have the vent line from the throttle body to the valve cover attached and functioning? Do you have the PCV valve in place on the drivers side of the intake, and the U-shaped tube connected to the vacuum port?

Re: Pcv
Yes to all the above its getting another pcv maybe that will fix it. The PCV sticks a little. Any other ideas?

Re: Pcv
car idles like it is missfiring but seams to clear up when i pull the breather out and let the fumes vent from the valve covers. Maybe it is killing it self.

Re: Pcv
So you have a breather AND the line from the TB to the valve cover installed? Why would the breather not let the fumes vent? That's the purpose of an open breather. Confusing.
