Parasitic HP loss
Approximately how much hp would I reclaim with a lightweight flywheel and aluminum driveshaft with the mods in sig? 15-20?
Thanks in advance. |

Re: Parasitic HP loss
The flywheel will help make it rev a little quicker. Its not going to give you big gains in power though. Just more "rev-happy" I would think. That seems to be how my experience with the whole lightwieght flywheel goes.

Re: Parasitic HP loss
the flywheel lets it rev up faster due to less rotational mass to spin, which in turn requires less power.
and if you gain 5# torque from spinning a driveshaft that is only 3" in diameter, imagine what 15lbs of mass reduction on an 11" wide flywheel will do. i felt it made my car quite a bit faster accelerating. but it is a bit tricky to launch. but then again...i have a spec4 clutch which is a solid disc...not much slip when engaging the clutch |
Re: Parasitic HP loss
who slips it....just get some sticky tires on there and drop the sum-bitch!:D
