Pacesetter Help!

Hey guys... Quick question -

I bought pacesetter long tubes around christmas time and haven't had time to put them on yet -- They are coated with EGR and AIR and I bought them from speed engineering off the vender board. I've read some really crappy things about how bad they are to install, etc., so I called and asked if they sold mid-lengths and maybe I could trade for them... But he told me that they (pacesetter) switched over to an easier to install product mid 2004 and that they are by far the easiest to install of all the headers they do.... Anyone heard anything of this??? The guy was really nice and seemed honest... I'm just worried that I'm gonna have a lot of crap to deal with when beginning this process... Also - if I do keep the pacesetters, which cats should i buy? I've done extensive research to no avail on this... If someone can advise me, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!~

Yep, they did go to a new style that made it alot easier to install. I put mine in over Christmas, and they both slid in from the top. I had no problems getting them in at all. I think the old design hit the k member.

Re: Pacesetter Help!

my pacesetter's had no air/egr fittings, but slid right in w/ ease... Only trick on the driver's side is you have to pull out your oil filter and remove the steering knuckle....

Getting them to seal up has been a chore though. I'm trying earl's gaskets now. should know later tonight ifthey were worth the extra premium.

I've already tried felpro's, mr . gaskets, and stock factory ones... they all leaked .
