oxygen sensors
oxygen sensors
Anyone have any tips and tricks for replacing oxygen sensors? I just rolled 110,000 miles and had one go bad, so I'm replacing all of them. Any help on the easiest way to get them out would help. Thanks.
#1. Spray them down a day ahead of time with something like PBlaster
#2. Get an O2 socket
#3. If they don't move, rather than rounding them out, get a blowtorch out and heat them up real good. Using a wrong sized wrench will round them very easily. The old ones should come right out if you get it glowing red.

the size of the soket is 22mm, all O2 sensors are 22 mm, i it were a brand new car u can get away with a 7/8" wrench but seeing as u have 110k miles, 22 is better
there are two types of O2 sensor sockets, one is a deep socket with a slit for the wiring harness, the other is a crowfoot type with a slit for the wiring
my personal preferance is to use the boxed end of a combination wrench whenevr possible
