Overheating (groundeffects)??

I just put on the Factery RS ground effects and everything was fine but now it is overheating can this be because I need a bigger air dam? do the factery RS cars come with larger airdams?

I doubt it, the regular one gets smacked on every driveway in existance. I'd hate to see how badly an even bigger one gets whacked around.

I only see one listed in the parts book... #10229657 listed for all 93-95

I will say anything that I have to say to get you to ditch the RS bodykit, and if I have to tell you that it overheats your engine.... then so be it.

I'm using the bigger air dam that came with my effects. It's awful, I can't even turn sharp without it smacking the road. Also my car would always run hot, exspecially in the summer. Then I picked up a used hypertech and just installed the base tune. My car runs a constant 180 degrees even on the hottest days now. I have a 160 thermo that I was going to install. But it runs so good now I don't want to mess with it.

My car came with a Wings West body kit on it when i bought it. It had a Wings West air dam which was about 2 inches longer than the stocker. Finally it broke while i was driving and my car became very hot. I couldn't find another air dam that size, so i bought a stock one from a junk yard and used part of the wings west one i already had....bolted them together to make a very tall air dam. Now it works fine, but i have about 1.5 inches between it and the ground...once you get used to it its not that bad. But i can drag cans and stuff on the road But it doesnt bother me, you just learn how to turn slower.

You should be able to purchase just the dam from Wings West. Mine scrapes the ground when I brake hard.

So can I just get one from a salvage yard and extend my original by bolting two pieces together whould that help the airflow.
