Over Opti, any alternatives.
To say the least I have had more than my share of problems from the opti set up on my car. What alternative is there out there. Can you do a intake swap and use a Distributor on a LT1 car? I am just really wanting to get away from the opti set up all together, I would greatly appritiate any input.

This subject has been beaten to death in the recent weeks. There are 2 known alternatives. One from a company that charges $500 for a better "GUARANTEED not to fail opti and another set up where you have a coil per cylinder rather than a distributor.

I suppose before i'll do that i'll just build a older style set up and go with a carb and distributor.

I forgot the second method costs around $8000, not including installation.

Try this 8-page thread.... might help you out:
