Optispark vent lines
I think i may have had my vent lines connected reverse on my optispark. With the car on i pulled the vent hose out of the intake elbo but could not feel any vacuum on that line? However when i reversed the lines on the optispark i can now feel suction on the line that connects to the elbo. Does this mean i have it connected correctly now?

They should be like this: http://shbox.com/1/opti_vacuum_harness.jpg
It should pull air from the elbow toward the intake manifold fitting. |
I was having a hard time tracing the 2 lines...i couldn't see from under the car which one went to the elbow and which one went to the manifold....if the 2 lines were reversed..it wouldn't pull any air from the elbow fitting right?

There's a check valve in the line that is supposed to go from the Opti to the vacuum connection on the manifold. If you switch the lines, and attach the end of the line with the check valve up near the elbow, the check valve would prevent the vacuum from reaching the point where the line connects to the elbow.

Ahhh ok, i must have it connected correctly now because before i was not getting any suction at the elbow connection but now i am. Thank you both for your help! :)

Guys, where does this line connect? I just got the car back from my mechanic and noticed the hose isn't connected to the air intake elbow. I can't find where to trace the other end to. Help!

I figured it out. The damn thing was inside the cover for the throttle cable. This mechanic isn't the perfectionist he claimed to be. 1.79 quarts low on coolant and finding crap that was left unplugged.
