Optispark Question

Hello, this is my first post, so hi all!

Now to the gritty...

My optispark is failing, so I bought a rebuilt one, which seems to be economically suitible from AutoZone, and I also got the cap from autozone as well. Keep in mind this is the non-vented style for the 94. Needless to say, they don't seem to fit together. The distributor itself has the plastic connected for the resolution signals, but the cap doesn't fit over it. I can get the rotor on fine, but as for the distributor cap, it doesn't seem possible for it to fit over the connector. It seems like there should be an indention on the cap for it to fit. If anyone has any details, or even better pictures, I would be very thankful.

Not sure I can visualize what you are saying, but you can get a brand new non-vented GM opti for ~$300. I wonder if you spent that much on all your parts?

If there was any way you could post a pic, that would be helpful.

Does the brand new optispark come with the cap and rotor? If so, where can I find it? Thanks for the prompt reply. I'll try to get some pictures.

I hope your new setup works, if its simply a cap and rotor kit, then the Optical sensor is probably still toast, and on my car at least that was exactly went bad after about 110k miles or so, not the diz contacts.
