optical sensor

With all the new companies building optis and the fact that the optical sensor is made by Mitsubishi and probably used in some model of there cars there has to be somewhere to buy a new optical sensor without buying a whole new opti. If anybody knows where I can get one that would be greatly appreciated.

I've also looked everywhere. I have 3 opti's with bad encode units. It would appear that they are not sold as individual pieces. B. (97SS 383 D1 M6)

someone must have them, is there a mitsubishi part number that can be cross referenced or searched for? I would like to buy them as well.

How prone is the opti sensor to failure?

suburban 10-22-2007 05:32 PM

Suposedly it's not that prone to failure but the problem is a 30 dollar part basically makes a 300-500 dollar part worthless.

Somebody has to know something about this.

the bearing also causes alot of failures not just the sensor
