Opti

Hey guys I know there is probably about 1 million threads on this. But in any event I just swapped an LT1 into my 3rd gen. It is backfiring through the intake a little and is not running on all the cylinders. Injectors are working and wires are straight. Is this a condition that a bad opti could cause? Any help would be apreciated.

A back fire usually means a plug firing out of sequence. Maybe a exhaust valve not opening. I would check my wires one more time, them a quick compression test, maybe pull the valve covers make sure all the rockers are still on. Then look at the opti. The opti is not the end all cure all to all problems. Like i asid in a post yesterday we all like to blame the opti for every thing, flat tires, low oil and worthless girlfriends are popular opti faults!

Funny.
Yeah I know to check the other stuff, and I will be sure to do that first. I am just not too familiar with the quirks of the opti yet. So I figured I would just check. Thanks again.

The opti is just a distributor mounted in a funny place.
