I have an exhaust rattle that is really annoying at low rpms and in reverse. I am about 80 percent sure it is from the catback where it goes over the axle and is hitting on the heat sheild up top. If I were to wrap about a foot or less with exhaust wrap, would it help the rattle and would it still be safe to drive around in without worrying about it catching on fire? I imagine the exhaust has cooled a little once it gets back there, but I dont wanna risk it if it isnt safe. Let me know what you guys think.

 

sure, i've done this myself. Make sure to use hi temp stuff though, like the stuff that wrap that goes on headers, just in case.
