I went out and bought a new oil pressure sensor today, however it did not come with the "L" type fitting that goes into the block. I removed the old one and through it away when I did the EGR removal.

I know.... Stupid me.

Where can I get that L type fitting that the oil sensor threads into?

There are actually 2 of GM PART # 10137636 or you can buy two 90° angle fittings from an auto supply store.

GM PART # 12085499 and is ACDelco #PT121 Is this for the electrical connector portion?

Since everything is already together I am thinking of relocating the sensor wire to the block by the oil filter. However I do not know exactly what the old location looks like. I have just always heard that 1993's and early 1994's used this location. Since mine is a 1994, possibly this location can be used instead?

Ripping the intake to install them fittings would be a chore.

 

Yeah, might be hard to get to now. You can use the lower block location. Just get the right sensor (24575127) as the threads are different (or get a 1/4" to 1/8" thread adapter).
The electrical connector is the same (PT121).

 

Ok, I may end up doing that. I tried going to my local auto store here and getting those 2 adapters for the one by the intake but they will not thread in. It looks as though the male end on the oil sending unit is 5/16 thread. So I purchased 5/16th x 1/4" male elbow but it will not thread into the block.

Any idea what the block thread size is? Also, will not having the oil sending unit plugged in at all cause the motor not to turn over? Does it cut the fuel pump or injectors or anything off? I was curious what plugging the new sensor in the electrical connector would do without plugging it into the block. I just want to be able to get the car started and moved somewhere where I can have a friend take a look at it with his lift.

If the oil pressure sensor is connected to the block. What do you call the other bolt that is bolted into the oil pan besides the oil drain plug? I'm asking because oil is leaking from their

 

That is called the low oil level sensor. It is plastic.

Check to make sure that the washer is intact. Most times you can just replace the washer to fix your leak.

Anyone have any idea about the fuel shut off question?

I may just end up purchasing those 2 parts from Jason since I cant seem to find the correct size that goes into the block.

 

I am pretty sure the pressure sensor circuit reads zero when fully grounded, and should max the gauge with no ground (unplugged). I don't think it will interfere with operation.

 

It is 1/8" NPT thread in the block and the sensor.Get a 1/8" close or a 1"nipple and a 1/8" "L" and put some pipe dope on the threads and install,Walllla.Ya may have to use the longer nipple for the L to clear the edge of the intake.

Thread. Behind the intake it is 1/8". On the side of the block, it is 1/4".

The pressure sensor only goes to the gauge and won't cause anything to shut off. Without it plugged in, the gauge will peg full. With the wire grounded, the gauge will read zero.

 

I guess I am confused then... I got a 1/8" close nipple to thread into the block by the intake. I then purchased a 1/8" 90 degree elbow. However, my sensor that I purchased is a 5/16" thread. Did they give me the wrong sensor? There is defiantly no way the sensor is threading into the 1/8" elbow. Believe me it is WAY to big. I also was only able to find MPT hardware, No one knew what NPT was and I didnt see any on the shelves.
