Oil filter adapter
Oil filter adapter
Im installing a 1996 Roadmaster engine into a 97 Camaro. I have no previous engine to rob the correct oil filter adapter. Can someone tell me where I could find one? I checked ebay but none said what years they cover. The Roadmaster filter uses a small filter. I wanted to install the correct one so I could install the correct oil filter.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Re: Oil filter adapter
Did the Roady motor come with a cooler adapter or non-cooler. The b-body oil cooler was a traditional remote style in radiator on civilian cars and in front of the radiator like a tranny cooler on the cop cars.
If you have a non-cooler one I would just keep it, the f-body oil cooler is a joke. Depending what you are doing for exhaust you can run a gen 1 smallblock adapter.

Re: Oil filter adapter
I recently deleted mine, its not needed, does nothing (except costs a pew psi of oil pressure). Its cleaner look and less to worry about failure.
Do you have the oil filter threaded piece already bolted in place? (But the large head bolts get in the way, they need to be replaced or ground down to a normal size bolt) then just thread on the correct oil filter for a LT1.

Re: Oil filter adapter
canton makes billet oil filter mounts. the LT1 uses standard SBC size. i run billets on all my stuff. way stronger, no cracking of the cast units and no press in thread tube to pull out and ruin your day.
